Fall 2007
Have You Heard the News? Excitement is in the air as planning begins for the new University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Library. In an unanticipated, but most welcomed event, Governor Phil Bredesen and the Tennessee Legislature have provided one-time funds for this new initiative. UTC first placed the Library on its building priority list in 1989. Read more »
Spring 2007
After a long and thoughtful development process, the Library has a new website! The Web Committee took several months last year to talk to students, faculty, and staff to see what we could d o to make our website easier to use for everyone, and the result was unveiled to the world over the Holiday break. There are many features, including a direct search for Movies and Music, separate areas devoted to faculty, students, and guests, and a direct link to course reserves. Students, faculty and staff can also login directly from their section of the site to renew books, and see what they have currently checked out. Read more »
Fall 2006
Lupton Library is offering a selection of new, informational workshops on a variety of topics of interest to students, faculty, and staff this fall. The first series is being offered in conjunction with the Student Success Center and is designed to assist students in getting to know the library and in learning some time saving tips from our instruction librarians. These are informal, drop in sessions available to all UTC students, faculty, and staff. Read more »
Summer 2006
Lupton Library has recently acquired a seminal art book, with the generous support of UTC Alumni Tom and Marion Griscom, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Tennessee Tomorrow Fund. Interaction of Color, a landmark work by Joseph Albers, was first published in 1963 by the Yale University Press. The first editionof the book includes 80 separate silkscreen prints, not included in subsequent editions. Albers composed Interaction of Color as a teaching aid for his students, and includes his unique theories on color and color relationships through interaction. Read more »

Our newsletter, written by library faculty and staff members, is intended to provide information about our services, collections, and personnel that may impact your use of the Library, physically or remotely. Herein, you will find a number of articles we hope will be of interest and use to you. We welcome your feedback on the effectiveness of this newsletter as a communication vehicle. Read more »
