Group Study Rooms Lupton Library has a number of group study rooms located on the east and west ends of the third floor of Lupton Library (Third Floor Map). Group study rooms 323-326 are open and available to any library patron on a first-come, first-served basis. If the room is unoccupied, go on in. Keys for group study rooms 301-306 may be checked out at the Circulation Desk by any current UTC student, faculty, or staff member with a valid MOCS Card. These rooms are checked out for 3 hours at a time. Renewals will be granted at the Circulation desk if no other patrons are waiting. Rooms 321 and 327 have been designated as "Reserve" study rooms. - Room 321 can be reserved by any current UTC student, faculty, or staff member with a valid MOCS Card representing a group of 8 to 20 people. Groups of less than 8 people observed using this room may be asked to leave.
- Room 327 can be reserved by any current student, faculty, or staff member with a valid MOCS Card. Priority for this study room is given to groups of two or more people.
- A single group can reserve a study room for a maximum of 3 hours per day. Renewals will be granted if the room has not been reserved by another group.
- Reservations will be forfeited by groups not arriving to check out the key within 15 minutes of the designated time.
- To sign up for the reserve study room, stop by the Circulation Desk or use our online Group Study Room Request Form.
The following rules apply to all patrons using the group study rooms: - Study Room keys may not be removed from the building.
- Overdue fines for study room keys accrue at $5.00 per hour. The replacement charge for a lost key is $50.00. The individual who checks out the room will be held responsible for all fines.
- Priority for study rooms is given to groups of two or more people.
- Drinks and snack foods are allowed. Patrons are asked to dispose of all cups, napkins, wrappers, etc. properly in the trash cans provided.
- No defacement of the study rooms is allowed. The patron who checks out the group study room will be held responsible for all equipment housed in the room.
- Patrons using the group study rooms must abide by these and all other Lupton Library policies. Patrons not in compliance may be asked to leave and be barred from future group study room use.
